Exploding Punch

You will need Gryphon's twin_beam_red Fx and the arrow_plasma Fx. Both are available in the Fx Installer from Alex's Freedom Fortress.
Here's how I made the exploding punch:
Create a folder in generic called exploding punch. Take the end.nif from twin red beams and paste it into the exploding punch folder. Rename the former twin beam red end.nif in the exploding punch folder to start.nif. Go to the arrow plasma folder in generic and copy the end.nif from the arrow plasma into the exploding punch folder. Go to the Freedom Force editor Fx tab and find Eldiablo flaming fist. Change the name to exploding punch, browse the Nif base window, find your exploding punch folder and save this. Go to the sound folder and find the generic_fire explosion sound effects. Rename each to fx exploding punch. When you go into the game you will now have a punch which tracks an energy trail right to left before an explosive impact.

Energy Punch

Here’s a really good Fx I made using available Fx called energy_punch. Create a new folder in the generic folder of the Fx's and call it energy_punch. Copy the start.nif and end.nif of twin_beam_red into this folder. Go to the Fx tab, scroll down to the eldiablo_flaming fist and select it. Change the name to energy punch, browse the Nif base window and find the energy punch folder you have created. Click save. Go to the sounds tab of the editor and find the sound effects for the eldiablo_flamingfist and select it. Click new, change the name to fx_energy_punch_03, click new and hit save. In the game you will now have a very cool red energy punch which starts out on the right hand and tracks to the left. I created a second power like this called femme_fatale_fist which tracks from left to right by switching the first and second node attachment points. Note: Clicking the track rot buttons creates the trail effect of the energy. Turning track rot off creates a pinpoint punch but selecting it creates the dragging effect.

Cosmic Blast

Here is another do it yourself Fx you can make with the editor to get a cosmic blast effect which looks alot like the one Havok from the X-men comics throws.
Go to the Fx tab and find the manbot_energize other indirect attack. The nif base director for this effect should be library\fx\manbot\energize_other. Change the nodes to weapon, the attack type from indirect to ranged projectile, the name of the attack from manbot energize other to cosmic_blast and save this. Next go to the sounds tab, find the sounds associated with manbot's energize other attack. They should be called fx_manbot_energizeother_1 and fx_manbot_energizeother_2. Click new, change the name of the first fx_manbot_energizeother_1 sound effect to cosmic_blast_1 and click new. Change the second sound file to cosmic_blast_2, click new and hit save. When you go in the game, you now have a cosmic blast fx which looks like the one Havok from the X-men uses.

Insect Swarm

Hello all! Here's another editor do it yourself Fx. I call it insect swarm.
Go to the Fx tab and find the_ant_swarm projectile attack. The nif base director for this effect should be library\fx\the_ant\ant_swarm. Change the nodes to centre, the attack type from projectile to area, the name of the attack from the_ant_swarm to insect_swarm and save this. Next go to the sounds tab, find the sounds associated with the ant's ant_swarm attack. They should be called fx_the_ant_swarm_1 and fx_the_ant_swarm_2. Click new, change the name of the first fx_ant_swarm_1 sound effect to insect_swarm_1 and click new. Change the second sound file to insect_swarm_2, click new and hit save. You can also change the volume of the attack if you desire. You now have an attack which simulates swarm insects around a host.
How to use this:
I went to Skindex and downloaded a male_basic skin called Rot and saved him as a skin under the human torch mesh. I then got Glitch Girl's firepack 2 aura downloads from Electric Freedom. Inside firepack 2 there is an effect for flies. Use this with the rot skin and you've got a reaking undead villian with flies popping off of him. Now use the new insect swarm fx with him. You now have a villian who can use his flies as as weapon. Enjoy.

This FX was designed for JKSpaz based off acid_grende (the smaller one).  It was recolored a darker shade and the smoke trail has been alphaed out.

  Included in this zipfile is the core.nif and the two textures it references, plus a sample end.nif (explosion). 

Use this core.nif with different end.nifs (look to the numerous arrowFX for ideas) to create custom projectiles.  *Spaz skin by Firestorm

The generic sonic_ray has that annoying SPLOOSH effect at the end, so I used a more generic end effect, ironically, from the water_jet. (were these two mixed up, maybe?) I used the default punch effect to simulate a glow from the mouth at the beginning of the scream.

This was strictly for X-Dud's Sentinel mesh and the melee_small_1 animation. The sentinel shoots out cables from its hands, thought it would make a good stasis attack using the tangle_beam end .nif.


The active defense shields make good stasis fields for beam attacks.
